The purpose of this agenda item is to request that the Houston Independent School District (HISD) School Board approves revisions to Board Policy DCE(LOCAL), Employment Practices: Other Types of Contracts. The revisions include deletion of information about contracts issued before September 1, 2001, and updated information about types of contracts offered and the grievance process for holders of performance contracts terminated for cause, as well as nonsubstantive changes for current policy style and format.
A copy of DCE(LOCAL) showing the proposed changes is attached.

RECOMMENDED: That the School Board accepts the proposed revisions to Board Policy DCE(LOCAL), Employment Practices: Other Types of Contracts, on first reading, effective January 16, 2026.
