Approval Of Appointments To The Houston Independent School District Board Audit Committee And The Establishment Of Staggered Membership Terms

The Board Audit Committee charter states that members serve three-year terms, and that the Board President shall strive for staggered committee member terms. Two members have now served three years. Pursuant to charter and Board Policy BDB(LOCAL), Board Internal Organization: Board Committees, the Houston Independent School District (HISD) School Board is asked to approve the reappointment of Ric Campo to the Audit Committee for a new three-year term, and to approve extending the term of Janette Garza Lindner one year to create staggered terms. Specifically, terms will end as follows:
• The current term of Ric Campo will end June 30, 2026, and the new term will end June 30, 2029.
• The extended term of Janette Garza Lindner will end June 30, 2027.
• The term of Paula Mendoza will end June 30, 2028.

recommendation
RECOMMENDED: That the School Board approves the reappointment of Ric Campo to the Board Audit Committee for a new three-year term, the extension of Janette Garza Lindner’s term for one year, and the establishment of staggered terms as described herein, effective June 12, 2026.
