This agenda item seeks Houston Independent School District (HISD) School Board approval to establish Board Policy CQD(LOCAL), Technology Resources: Artificial Intelligence, to establish local policy governing the district’s use of artificial intelligence (AI). This policy includes AI information that has been in CQ(LOCAL) in the section Use in District. The proposed policy also formalizes the superintendent’s authority to oversee AI training, compliance, and system access; establishes expectations for responsible and ethical use aligned to student outcomes; and reinforces requirements related to data privacy, security, and academic integrity. Adoption of CQD(LOCAL) will ensure consistent districtwide guidance and compliance with applicable regulations while supporting the effective and appropriate use of emerging technologies.
