ANNOUNCEMENT OF REQUIRED BOARD MEMBER CONTINUING EDUCATION
Board President Momanaee made the following statement:
Under State Board of Education rule, completing required continuing education each year of
service is a basic obligation and expectation of any sitting board member. In accordance with
Texas Administrative Code Chapter 61, Subchapter A, §61, an announcement as to the status
of board members’ continuing education must be made by the board president at the last
regular board meeting before an election of trustees. Board Policy BBD(LOCAL), Board
Members: Training and Orientation, states that the board president will annually announce the
status of each board member’s continuing education at the last regular board meeting before
the district’s uniform election date, even if an election is not scheduled or held.
My announcement is that all board members-Cassandra Auzenne Bandy, Ric Campo,
Michelle Cruz Arnold, Janette Garza Lindner, Angela Lemond Flowers, Rolando Martinez,
Paula Mendoza, Adam Rivon, and I, Audrey Momanaee-have fulfilled required first-year
training requirements as of June of this year. We are now working toward completing our
second-year training requirements, which will be reported in October of 2025.
Board members Cassandra Auzenne Bandy, Rolando Martinez, and I, Audrey Momanaee,
have completed the required 10 hours of additional continuing education. Board members Ric
Campo, Michelle Cruz Arnold, Janette Garza Lindner, Angela Lemond Flowers, Paula
Mendoza, and Adam Rivon have exceeded that requirement.
